PRIVATE SCHOOLS LACK REGULATIONS

Private schools in KP have been reportedly increasing tuition fee without a rationale, burdening the parents. Critics say this is happening because no proper mechanism is in place to regulate private educational institutions. A group of lawyers led by prominent lawyer Fazal Shah Mohmand has filed a petition against private schools for their recent increase in school fees. Provincial Minister for Education, Mohammad Atif Khan told Radio TNN that government was in consultation with private schools management to form a proposed body over regulation of tuition fee. But on the other hand representatives of private schools appear most unlikely to accept the body saying government has no justification to impose any restriction them, as there are private entities and are not dependent on government finances to operate.
