Peshawar BRT project to help control environmental hazards

Uprooting more than 700 trees and removing of green belts in this provincial metropolis to pave way for the Rapid Bus Transit (BRT) project was indubitably a shock for those concerned about environment.

They believe that every single tree contributes to environment and cutting of trees in such a large number was literally disastrous for our already badly-polluted environment.

According to Climate Change Cell at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, there was one-degree Celsius increase in temperature of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period from 2005 to 2010.
